Join our team in Pittsburgh, PA (15642) and put your machining skills to work where quality and collaboration matter. In this role, you’ll turn raw stock into precise components while partnering with a friendly crew that values problem-solving and continuous improvement.
A Day in the Life
You arrive to review the day’s jobs, double-check drawings and CAD files, and set up your CNC machine with the right tooling and offsets. As production runs, you monitor feeds, speeds, and part quality—making measured adjustments to keep everything on target. You handle routine maintenance, troubleshoot minor issues before they escalate, and wrap up by inspecting finished parts and keeping your work area safe and spotless.
What You’ll Do
- Set up and operate CNC equipment to machine components to exact specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD details to plan machining operations.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on CNC machinery.
- Track production, monitor tool wear, and adjust processes to maintain quality and throughput.
- Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and conformance to spec.
- Partner with teammates to boost efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment in line with safety guidelines.
What You’ll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; a machining certificate or technical degree is a plus.
- Hands-on experience as a CNC machinist or in a closely related role.
- Comfort reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Solid understanding of CNC operation and programming fundamentals.
- Familiarity with measurement tools and standard quality control methods.
- Sharp attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and contribute within a team setting.
- Clear communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
