Position: Church Organist/Pianist

Overview:

• Seeking a talented and dedicated Church Organist/Pianist to enhance worship services through music

Qualifications:

• Professional keyboard skills
• Experience in church worship settings preferred
• Ability to collaborate with church leadership, staff, and members
• Dependable and reliable
• Passion for ministry and commitment to contributing positively to the church community

Responsibilities:

• Provide organ and/or piano music for weekly Sunday worship (9:00 AM) and all regularly scheduled services
• Play for special seasonal services, including:
  • Christmas Eve
  • Ash Wednesday
  • Lenten services (Wednesdays)
  • Maundy Thursday
  • Easter
• Select and provide music that is liturgically appropriate to the church year
• Accompany congregational singing and help introduce new hymns
• Collaborate and communicate regularly with:
  • Pastor
  • Church Secretary
  • Handbell Director
• Inform the church office of organ and piano maintenance needs
• First right to play at weddings and funerals (additional fee)

Hours of Work:

• Regular Sunday worship at 9:00 AM
• Approximately 4–5 hours per week, including:
  • Service preparation and performance
  • Music selection and practice time

• Additional pay for weddings, funerals, and memorial services
• First right of acceptance for these events
• Two weeks of paid vacation after 3 months of employment
• Access to instruments:
  • Kimball 2-manual pipe organ
  • Grand piano
  • Upright piano
