Position Overview
NorTek Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) role in Washington, DC. This opportunity is within a high-quality, patient-centered surgical practice specializing in plastic and reconstructive procedures.
This position is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced procedural setting and is passionate about delivering exceptional perioperative patient care. You will work alongside a collaborative clinical team, supporting patients through recovery while ensuring safety, comfort, and high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Monitoring
Provide post-anesthesia care and monitoring for patients recovering from surgical procedures
Assess patient status, vital signs, airway stability, and pain levels
Identify and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
Perioperative Support
Assist with pre-operative preparation and post-operative recovery processes
Provide patient education on recovery expectations, wound care, and follow-up instructions
Support surgeons and clinical staff during procedural and recovery workflows
Clinical Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation
Follow infection control, patient safety, and clinical best practices
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and practice standards
Team Collaboration
Work closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff
Contribute to a positive, patient-centered care environment
Communicate effectively with patients and families to support understanding and comfort
Required Qualifications
Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington, DC
PACU, critical care, or perioperative nursing experience preferred
Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
Professional, dependable, and team-oriented approach
Excellent communication and patient education abilities
Preferred Experience
Experience in outpatient surgery, plastic surgery, or procedural settings
Familiarity with post-anesthesia recovery protocols
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
Work Schedule
Full-time position
On-site role in Washington, DC
No relocation assistance provided

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000 annually
