Director of Nursing (DON) - Skilled Nursing Facility | Calabasas, CA

Key Responsibilities:

Direct and oversee all nursing operations within the skilled nursing facility (SNF) to ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care
Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and protocols in full compliance with state and federal regulations
Lead, mentor, coach, and support nursing staff while fostering a collaborative and positive work environment
Coordinate and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, therapists, and social workers to optimize patient outcomes
Ensure strict adherence to all legal, ethical, and professional nursing standards, including Medicare and Medicaid regulations
Manage nursing department budgets, staffing schedules, and resource allocation efficiently
Conduct regular quality assurance audits and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Serve as liaison between administration, medical staff, patients, and families
Maintain compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, and California Department of Public Health standards

Required Qualifications:

Current, active, and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 5 years of Director of Nursing (DON) experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting
At least 1 year of Medicare home health leadership experience required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration a plus
Exceptional leadership, team-building, and staff development skills
Strong verbal and written communication abilities with all levels of staff and stakeholders
Expert knowledge of current nursing practices, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement methodologies
Proven track record of successful survey outcomes and regulatory compliance
Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and nursing documentation systems
CPR and BLS certification required
