We are highly motivated to bring on an integral member of our team who can make an immediate impact as a Buyer/Purchasing/Procurement Specialist within our Manufacturing organization who has sourcing vendors, raw materials, etc. This role requires someone who has worked directly with suppliers, understands production-driven purchasing, and can confidently manage vendor relationships in a fast-moving industrial setting.

Core Requirements:
- Demonstrated purchasing or buying experience within a manufacturing setting
- Direct procurement responsibility for raw materials (metals, plastics, or similar commodities)
- Proven track record of working directly with suppliers and vendors
- Experience negotiating pricing, delivery schedules, and supply terms
- Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems (SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, AS400, or comparable platforms)
- Solid understanding of inventory management, production planning, and supply chain operations
- Ability to operate effectively in a deadline-driven manufacturing environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute purchasing strategies that support production schedules and operational goals
- Manage day-to-day procurement activities including purchase orders, supplier communication, and order tracking
- Negotiate competitive pricing and contractual terms while maintaining strong supplier partnerships
- Partner cross-functionally with Production, Planning, and Logistics teams to ensure consistent material availability
- Monitor inventory levels and demand signals using ERP/MRP systems to prevent shortages or excess stock
- Track supplier performance using key metrics related to quality, cost, and delivery reliability
- Identify and onboard new suppliers to strengthen the supply base and reduce risk
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure compliance with internal procurement procedures
