Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Full-Time Sign Language Interpreter is needed to support a high school student in Leesville, SC. This contract position spans the full school year and involves working closely with a 17-year-old student requiring proficient American Sign Language (ASL) communication support.

Responsibilities include providing clear and accurate interpretation of classroom instruction, conversations, and school activities using ASL. The interpreter will facilitate communication between the student and teachers, classmates, and staff from 7:50 AM to 3:20 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional attendance at after-school activities.

Key qualifications:

• EIPA certification required, demonstrating proficiency in educational interpreting
• ASL fluency at Level 5 or equivalent skill
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably with high school students
• Strong understanding of deaf culture and ability to adapt to diverse communication needs
• Commitment to full school year contract duration
