POSITION OVERVIEW
NY Enrichment Group is seeking a patient, enthusiastic, and culturally knowledgeable Mandarin Instructor to teach youth in a fun and interactive learning environment. The instructor will introduce students to Mandarin vocabulary, pronunciation, characters, and conversational basics while incorporating cultural activities to deepen engagement. The ideal candidate is creative, reliable, and able to make language learning enjoyable for students of varying skill levels.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead beginner-level Mandarin lessons for youth, focusing on vocabulary, pronunciation, tones, characters, and simple conversational skills.
- Incorporate interactive activities such as songs, games, storytelling, and cultural projects.
- Introduce students to aspects of Chinese culture, holidays, traditions, and customs.
- Adapt lessons to meet the needs and learning styles of different age groups.
- Prepare materials and set up the classroom before each session; ensure clean-up after class.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging environment that promotes language confidence.
- Communicate with NYEG’s Director of Operations regarding scheduling, materials, and class updates.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proficiency in Mandarin; strong speaking and communication skills.
- Experience teaching youth, tutoring, or leading language-based activities.
- Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans.
- Reliable, punctual, professional, and comfortable working independently.
