Dental Receptionist
Location: Sacramento, CA

Pay Range: $22.64 hour

Position Summary
The Dental Receptionist is responsible for front office operations including answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties to support daily clinic functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner
- Answer high-volume incoming calls (up to ~100 daily inquiries)
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using electronic systems (NextGen preferred)
- Manage provider schedules for dentists and hygienists
- Verify patient insurance and eligibility
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Process payments, including cash and credit card transactions
- Maintain front office organization, logs, and overall appearance
- Order and restock office supplies
- Prepare and organize dental records, including x-rays for referrals and insurance
- Perform general clerical duties (filing, copying, shredding, etc.)
- Assist with closing duties and additional administrative tasks as needed
- Travel to other sites as required
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Dental Assisting Certificate preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a dental office
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards
- Ability to work flexible schedules as needed
- Bilingual skills are a plus
