Job Title: Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11235
Salary: $295,000 – $350,000 annually
Schedule Details
- Shift: Day Shift
- Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Schedule Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)
Position Overview
A leading healthcare organization is seeking a highly experienced Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to lead and oversee all nursing operations. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this role is responsible for driving strategic initiatives, operational excellence, and high-quality patient care outcomes across the organization.
The CNO will play a critical role in advancing clinical excellence, improving patient satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards while leading large, complex hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership for all nursing operations and strategic initiatives
- Lead quality improvement and performance management programs
- Develop and implement nursing policies, standards, and evidence-based practices
- Collaborate with executive leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
- Drive recruitment, retention, and professional development of nursing staff
- Partner with HR on workforce planning, credentialing, and performance management
- Foster strong labor/union relationships and maintain collaborative environments
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal healthcare regulations
- Oversee budgeting, staffing models, and resource planning
- Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
Key Goals
- Maintain optimal nursing staffing ratios
- Improve patient satisfaction scores within 3 years
- Achieve Magnet designation within 5 years
- Attain top-tier patient safety and quality ratings
Required Qualifications
- Valid or pending New York State RN License
- Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration or related field
- 8+ years of nursing experience, including 6+ years in leadership roles
- Prior experience as a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) required
- Proven success with Magnet designation initiatives
- Strong experience in unionized healthcare environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale organizational change
- Experience in complex hospital or health system settings
