Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Assignment Duration: 15 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Schedule: 12.5-hour shifts | Every other weekend and select holidays required
Position Overview
A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support a Pediatric Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit. This contract role focuses on providing compassionate, high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients with behavioral and mental health needs in an acute care hospital setting.
Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in an inpatient behavioral health environment

Assist physicians and registered nurses with examinations, treatments, and procedures

Administer medications and injections in accordance with established protocols

Monitor, document, and report vital signs and patient responses to treatment

Prepare patients for examinations and assist during clinical procedures

Maintain cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms and clinical areas

Accurately document patient care using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems

Support daily unit operations and participate in nursing unit activities

Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams
Compensation
-
Gross Weekly Pay: $1,846/week
-
W2 Rate: $18/hour
-
Weekly Stipend: $1,225/week
-
Local Pay Rate: $37/hour
Required Qualifications
-
Active New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license – required
-
Psychiatric nursing experience – required
-
Minimum 1 year of LPN experience

Prior inpatient hospital experience strongly preferred
-
Pediatric nursing experience preferred
-
Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)

EKG application experience highly desired

Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills

Requires flexibility for weekends and holiday coverage
