Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week (except holidays when the unit is closed)
  • 13-week contract, with start dates available on 5/4 or 5/18
  • Every other holiday
  • Three weekends required per six-week schedule

Key Qualifications:

  • Current active compact RN license
  • AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (copies required at submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of stepdown experience PLUS 1 completed travel contract, or 5 years of solid stepdown experience if no prior travel exposure
  • Recent proficiency in EPIC charting (checkoff class required)
  • Able to interpret 12-lead EKGs (passing tele tests), perform neuro assessments, care for complex post-cardiac and neuro patients, handle sepsis care, and confidently manage various IV drips

Primary Duties:

  • Deliver expert care for post-procedure cardiac, neuro, and sepsis patients
  • Perform strong, autonomous assessments and critical interventions
  • Float as needed to closely situated campuses and step into MS/T assignments as required
  • Precept students and new hires as part of the teaching hospital’s supportive staff model
