POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Assistant

LOCATION: Angels Camp, California

STATUS: On-Site Non-Exempt, Full-Time

SALARY RANGE: $27.71-$32.93, hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under supervision of the HR Director, the Human Resources Assistant serves primarily as administrative support to the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Assistant supports a broad range of human resources functions such as hiring and recruiting, benefits, compensation, and maintaining personnel records. . The incumbent must work in a positive and respectful manner with fellow employees.

The position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian health organizations which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

1. Tracks and maintains accurate and up-to-date Human Resource files, records, and documentation. HRIS ADP Preferred.

2. Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.

3. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.

4. Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.

5. Provides administrative support to the HR department.

6. Assists with preparing for yearly Open Enrollment.

7. Assists with onboarding and new hire orientation.

8. Assists with recruiting process: job postings, recruitment packets, follow-up notifications.

9. Assists with daily communication of Out of Office emails.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

1. Associate’s degree in related field required or three years of progressively responsible experience in administrative role. PHR Preferred.

2. Ability to manage multiple projects and interact with applicants and staff in a positive manner.

3. Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret documents. Able to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.

4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

5. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

7. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications. ADP experience preferred.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must pass Occupational Health Screening.

2. Must possess a valid form of identification as listed on the U.S. Department of Justice I-9 form, verified using the E Verify system.

3. Clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance driving eligibility (determined by auto insurance carrier).

4. Proficient in problem resolution, detail analysis, and accuracy.

5. Ability to work as part of a professional team.

6. Ability to work independently and submit weekly reports of progress to direct supervisor.

7. Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments in a timely manner.
