Director, Finance & Capital Markets
Jupiter Power is an energy infrastructure company focused on the development, construction, and operation of energy storage assets in wholesale electricity markets. Formed in 2017, the company is a national leader in energy storage deployment, utilizing its proprietary dispatch optimization applications to support both merchant and contracted structures. Jupiter currently has 2,575 MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) already in operation or construction, and a development pipeline in excess of 12 gigawatts of projects for delivery from 2026 and beyond.
Jupiter seeks to hire a highly motivated and experienced professional as its Director, Finance & Capital Markets (the Director) with a focus on Portfolio Finance. The Director will take a lead role in managing debt, equity, and tax equity in Jupiters construction and operating portfolio of assets. This role involves monitoring the financial performance of our BESS portfolio, ensuring financial compliance, and driving portfolio optimization strategies. This person is responsible for developing and maintaining strong lender and investor relationships and managing compliance with existing debt and tax equity facilities. The Director utilizes knowledge and experience in their discipline while building higher-level knowledge and skills in the emerging energy storage field, offers recommendations to management, and mentoring and training to less experienced colleagues. This role requires a detail-oriented team player to be successful. The Director will be supported by 1-2 finance professionals in a matrixed organization and report to the Vice President, Finance & Capital Markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Jupiters Corporate Finance and Project Finance compliance function. Develop or enhance robust financial compliance processes and procedures. Serve as the primary point of contact with lenders and investors within our construction and operating portfolio.
- Monitor and analyze the financial performance of Jupiters BESS portfolio.
- Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate returns and track project KPIs
- Develop and maintain strong lender and investor relationships.
- Prepare project and portfolio-level reports and insights for various stakeholders.
- Support the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the BESS portfolio.
- Make recommendations to optimize financing structures to enhance portfolio returns.
- Identify opportunities for refinancing or restructuring to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.
- Build financial models from templates and from scratch, run scenario analysis and provide data analytics to evaluate BESS projects and energy contracts and identify areas of risk and opportunity.
- Review financial information prepared by Asset Management, Risk Management, FP&A, and Accounting teams for recurring management reporting. Maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts and provide analysis including but not limited to, key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting.
- Drive continual improvement and streamline processes using standardization and automation to scale the business.
- Address new requests: understand the core question being asked, capture needed data, build models, validate assumptions, perform analyses, summarize, and present results in a compelling manner.
- Partner with key stakeholders, collaborating and contributing to achieve shared goals.
- Use information and analysis to influence decision making.

Requirements
- 7+ years experience in portfolio finance, project finance, and/or corporate finance roles.
- Experience leading structured debt, equity, and/or tax equity transactions.
- Proficiency in modeling energy development project cash flows and performance on both a levered and unlevered basis.
- Experience performing complex quantitative analysis.
- Experience in wholesale energy markets and with offtake or hedge structures.
- Familiarity with effective data visualization.
- Expertise with MS Office applications.
- Ability to travel moderately as needed.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and highly organized team player with keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop staff.
- Bachelors degree in business, finance, economics, or relevant field; advanced degree preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
$160,000 - $190,000 Annually
This pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Jupiter Power considers a number of factors when determining starting compensation such as the position requirements and the candidate's qualifications.
In addition to base pay, the total annual compensation package for this position includes eligibility to participate in our bonus and equity programs.
