Automated Assembly Mechanical Design Engineer (33068)
Job Description
An international custom automated assembly line solutions company is currently seeking an experienced Automated Assembly Mechanical Design Engineer to join their facility in the Rochester Hills, Michigan area. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years’ experience with machine and tooling design and familiarity with manufacturing processes. This is a full-time and direct hire position.
"Automated Assembly Mechanical Design Engineer" Responsibilities Include:
- Design and development of the whole material handling robotics/factory automation lines for customers
- Communicate with clients to understand the all the requirement including quality
- Develop and maintain engineering drawings, schematics, and Bill of Materials and budgeting
- Create records of design changes and project updates for internal and customer use
- Communicate and collaborate with mechanical engineering manager to create a concept
- Work with various department (Project Manager, Controls Engineering, manufacturing) until customer’s approval of the design
- Participate in meetings regarding projects with internal departments and outside customers
- Assist management in design department process improvement and performance analysis
- Other duties as assigned
"Automated Assembly Mechanical Design Engineer" Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years' design experience in custom robotics/machineries/assembly
- Ability to read, interpret, and improve engineering drawings and schematics
- Strong communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
- Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to collaborate with other colleagues and departments
This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
