Substitute Personal Care Assistants are needed to support students with disabilities during temporary staff absences in local K–12 schools. This role involves providing one-on-one assistance with academic participation, physical needs, and behavioral support.
Assignments are based on school requests and vary day to day, offering flexibility for those seeking meaningful, part-time work in education.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required

Experience supporting individuals with special needs is preferred

Must be physically able to assist with lifting or mobility

Familiarity with IEPs or behavioral plans is helpful

Must meet all PA school clearance requirements
Responsibilities:

Provide support with activities of daily living including feeding and toileting

Escort students to and from classrooms or therapies
-
Assist with communication, redirection, and on-task behavior
-
Reinforce individualized instruction or therapies under staff direction

Observe and report changes in behavior or needs to appropriate personnel

Maintain safety and emotional well-being of the assigned student at all times
