Job DescriptionWe are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Wilmington, California. As part of a small transportation company, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting essential accounting functions. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in bookkeeping, especially within the trucking or transportation industry.

Responsibilities:
• Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to ensure timely and accurate payments.
• Record and reconcile invoices, fuel receipts, and driver-related expenses with precision.
• Perform regular reconciliations of bank and credit card statements to maintain accurate financial records.
• Support payroll processes, including driver payments for mileage, hours worked, and per diem.
• Prepare and distribute basic financial reports, such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
• Monitor and track truck-related expenses, including maintenance, insurance, and fuel costs.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.• Minimum of 1 year of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for managing financial data.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time.
• Experience in the trucking or transportation industry is preferred but not required.
