Job DescriptionSenior Corporate Accountant
Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Type: 9-month contract
Compensation: $45-$55/hour (DOE)
Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Accountant to support corporate accounting functions with a strong focus on general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting. This role is ideal for a hands-on accountant who is comfortable operating in a corporate environment, partnering cross-functionally, and ensuring accurate and timely financial results. CPA is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and execute month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Maintain accuracy of the general ledger in accordance with GAAP
- Assist with preparation of internal and external financial reports
- Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis; investigate and resolve variances
- Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Partner with FP&A, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy
- Assist with process improvements, documentation, and internal controls
- Support ad hoc accounting projects and initiatives as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5-8+ years of corporate or general ledger accounting experience
- CPA not required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting principles
- Hands-on experience with month-end close and reconciliations
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Experience in a publicly traded or multi-entity corporate environment
- Prior contract or project-based accounting experience
- Exposure to system implementations or accounting process optimization
