Job DescriptionSenior Corporate Accountant

Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Type: 9-month contract
Compensation: $45-$55/hour (DOE)

Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Accountant to support corporate accounting functions with a strong focus on general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting. This role is ideal for a hands-on accountant who is comfortable operating in a corporate environment, partnering cross-functionally, and ensuring accurate and timely financial results. CPA is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and execute month-end and quarter-end close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Maintain accuracy of the general ledger in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with preparation of internal and external financial reports
  • Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis; investigate and resolve variances
  • Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
  • Partner with FP&A, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy
  • Assist with process improvements, documentation, and internal controls
  • Support ad hoc accounting projects and initiatives as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5-8+ years of corporate or general ledger accounting experience
  • CPA not required
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting principles
  • Hands-on experience with month-end close and reconciliations
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a publicly traded or multi-entity corporate environment
  • Prior contract or project-based accounting experience
  • Exposure to system implementations or accounting process optimization
