Key Responsibilities Duties:
- Greet and prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit
- Assist providers with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures
- Administer injections and perform EKGs, venipuncture, and other lab procedures as needed
- Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Provide patient education and instructions as directed by the provider
- Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and properly set up
- Support quality improvement initiatives, including patient recall, preventive screenings, and care gap closures
- Assist with scheduling, referrals, and prior authorizations as needed
- Follow infection control and safety procedures
Job Requirements:
- Must have a CMA or RMA current certification
- Must have at least 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- One year of experience in Primary Care or Internal Medicine is highly preferred.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and critical-thinking skills.
- Previous EMR/EHR experience with NextGen is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical protocols.
- Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:15 am-4:00 pm, Friday 7:15 am-2:45 pm (must be flexible), and available for Saturday clinic at least once a month from 8am-12pm
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required.
- Primary Care experience preferred but not required.
