Job DescriptionSeeking a seasoned BILINGUAL (Spanish/English) Medical Assistant with front desk experience (minimum 3 years) to work in a busy pediatric and young adult medical specialty office. We are looking for someone who is mature and pleasant in personality, patient, great with kids and adults alike, friendly, compassionate, works well in a team atmosphere and has an excellent work ethic.Knowledge of obtaining authorizations for radiologic procedures a must. Computer literacy and attention to detail is also required. We do not use EMR therefore filing charts and e-mailing or faxing scripts are part of the job. Must be cretified to give intramuscular injections.
Responsibilities include:
- greeting patients with a smile
- preparing charts for doctor
- Accurately measuring height, weight and other vital signs
- bringing patients to exam rooms
- cleaning/preparing exam rooms for next patients
- intramuscular injections
- some blood draws
- reviewing lab results and identify abnormalities
- placing completed lab results in charts for doctor's overview
- answering phones
- attending to patient questions
- scheduling and confirming appointments
- sending patients appropriate paperwork
- keeping track of patients for rescheduling
- getting authorizations for radiologic procedures
- filing charts and preparing charts for next day
Candidate must be willing to work from 8:30 am until the last patient leaves (usually between 5:30 and 6:00). We close early on Fridays.
