POSITION SUMMARY

The press operator is responsible to run three presses, while achieving production goals and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


  • At the beginning of each shift, turn on power and air.
  • Lift and dump boxes of caps into gaylords.
  • Visually inspect caps.
  • Use gauges to ensure caps meet quality standards and record findings in the computer.
  • When metal coil runs out, use lift to place new coil onto machine.
  • Make sure choppers are clear of scrap material. If there is scrap, turn off machine and remove scrap.
  • Complete end of day worksheets and return to department supervisor.
  • Notify a mechanic when machine issues arise.
  • Notify department supervisor or QC when quality issues arise.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of the department.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

            SKILLS & ABILITIES

            Education:

            High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).

            Experience:

            No prior experience in Manufacturing.

            Computer Skills:

            General computer literacy to enter data.
