Responsibilities
The Campus as a Living Lab Coordinator is responsible for supporting the ongoing
initiatives in the Office of Sustainability. These include existing programs, such as the
Knox Farm, Share Shop, Bike Shop, and Traditional and Nontraditional Recycling. Also,
the Living Lab Coordinator will work with the Director of Sustainability in planning and
implementing campus events, such as Race to Zero Waste Campaign, Move Out, Earth
Month, New Student Orientation, and Sustainability Tours on campus. One essential
role will be collaborating with the Director on the collection of data of these programs
and events, and the development of subsequent reports, communications, and
presentations.
Additional responsibilities will include working with the Director to design and implement
new strategies for increasing sustainability initiatives on campus through expanded
curricular connections, improving efficiencies and better coordination in managing
resources, and encouraging greater participation among students, staff, faculty and
administration in these programs.
Required Qualifications
● Associate’s degree from an accredited 2 or 4 year institution
● Prior experience with data collection and management
● Excellent management and written communication skills
● Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects
Preferred Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
● Prior experience working on an urban farm
● Prior experience managing compost systems
● Experience with community oriented workshops
● Experience leading volunteer hours
