Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary students by supporting their social, emotional, and behavioral growth. In this contract role, you’ll work full-time within a dynamic elementary school environment for the academic year, engaging closely with students, families, and educational staff.

Responsibilities:

Provide tailored social work services to students within an elementary school setting.
Address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges by developing appropriate intervention strategies.
Collaborate daily with teachers, administrators, and support staff to foster positive student outcomes.
Facilitate connections for students and families to available resources within the school and local community.
Maintain proactive, open communication with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure student needs are met.

Qualifications:

Hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from a program recognized by the State Board.
Possess either a temporary or full School Social Work approval from the Michigan Department of Education.
Demonstrate a strong foundation in school-based social work practices.
Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of school staff and stakeholders.
Previous experience in a School Social Worker role is preferred.
Background in developing and connecting students to internal and community resources is highly desired.

This full-time, onsite position is available for the duration of the academic year, from September 8, 2026, through June 18, 2027.
