Job Title: Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Nurse Supervisor
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Type: Contract | 14 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Monday – Friday | One Weekend Shift Required Per Month | Leadership / Administrative Nursing Position

Pay Rate: $95 - $100/hour

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Nurse Supervisor for an exciting Travel or Local job in Brooklyn, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the oversight and management of nursing operations and clinical services.

  • Collaborate with Nurse Managers to assess unit performance, staffing effectiveness, and patient care outcomes.

  • Monitor nursing practice standards and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and implement programs designed to improve patient care quality and safety.

  • Participate in quality assurance, risk management, and patient safety initiatives.

  • Assist in investigating clinical incidents and implementing corrective actions as needed.

  • Evaluate employee performance and support professional development initiatives.

  • Coach, mentor, and counsel nursing staff to promote clinical excellence and accountability.

  • Support recruitment, retention, orientation, and ongoing staff development efforts.

  • Develop and maintain systems for tracking medication errors, corrective actions, and staff counseling.

  • Maintain compliance with NYSED regulations, nursing standards, and healthcare accreditation requirements.

  • Participate in audits and regulatory reviews as required.

  • Serve as a liaison between nursing leadership, staff, physicians, and other departments.

  • Support a positive work environment focused on collaboration, accountability, and patient-centered care.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited Nursing Program required.

  • Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) License required.

  • Primary Source Verification of License and Registration through the New York State Department of Education (NYSED) required.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

  • Minimum seven (7) years of nursing experience required.

  • Minimum five (5) years of nursing leadership or supervisory experience required.

  • Minimum two (2) years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

  • Experience in quality improvement, staff development, and nursing operations preferred.
