The Central Next Steps Director serves to support the Next Steps Department by helping to manage the systems, resources, and training that help multiple campuses effectively implement Next Steps initiatives (Growth Track, Dream Team, Groups, and Baptism). This role ensures that campus teams are equipped, resourced, and aligned with the goals and vision of the church and the department. In addition, the Director also serves as a data manager, tracking and analyzing participation and engagement metrics to help us make informed decisions, measure success, and drive improvement across all campuses. They will also track key metrics, assist with administrative tasks and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee Resource Distribution and Equip Campus Teams:
Ensure each campus has all necessary materials, for Growth Track, Dream Team, and Baptism. Coordinate distribution of items. Assist with purchasing and maintenance of inventory.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Collect, manage, and analyze data on engagement and effectiveness of all Next Steps programs.
Develop and maintain dashboards to track KPIs, such as Growth Track completion rates, Dream Team volunteer onboarding, and Baptism participation. Provide weekly and quarterly reports to executive leadership, that include campus attendance and other key metrics.
Use data trends to recommend improvements, highlight successes, and identify areas of concern.
Ensure
accurate reporting of key metrics. Help manage Next Steps databases and tracking systems
(e.g., Planning Center, Church Metrics).
Support Volunteer Leadership Development:
Develop tools for recruiting, training, and retaining Dream Team members. Track volunteer engagement metrics and identify trends.
Develop Communication and Retention Strategies:
Help create follow-up sequences (emails, texts, calls) to engage new guests after their first visit, after Growth Track, or after baptism.Ensure consistent messaging across campuses so all locations reinforce the same vision for Next Steps.
Principal Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Establish efficient systems for capturing, storing, and organizing data across all Next Steps initiatives (Growth Track, Dream Team, Small Groups, Baptism).
- Ensure consistent data entry and quality control across campuses and platforms
- Design real-time dashboards that visually represent key performance indicators (KPIs) for all Next Steps programs.
- Tailor dashboards for different stakeholdersexecutive leadership, campus pastors, ministry leadersto provide relevant and actionable insights.
- identify patterns in participation, engagement, drop-off points, and volunteer onboarding using historical and current data.
- Segment data by campus to uncover insights that inform strategic planning.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports that summarize program performance and effectiveness.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Maintain accurate records of Sunday attendance, event attendance, and Next Steps specific metrics using church management software (e.g., Planning Center, Church Metrics).
- Schedule, organize, and coordinate Next Steps events, meetings, and training sessions.
- Track and follow up on member engagement progress, ensuring timely communication with participants.
Member Engagement & Follow-Up
- Track new member progression and ensure timely follow-ups via email, phone, or text.
- Provide basic support for new members navigating the Next Steps process.
- Help connect members with small groups, serving opportunities, and other church ministries.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Support the implementation of best practices for church assimilation.
- Identify areas where systems and workflows can be streamlined for efficiency.
- Assist in maintaining and updating dashboards and reports
Mid-Week Responsibilities
- Monday-Thursday responsibilities
- Follow Up & Data Input/Processing, data reporting, workflow checks, resource allocation to campuses, logistics coordination, process improvement, Evaluate KPIs
Weekend Responsibilities
- Sat-Sunday responsibilities
- Observe live experiences, fill in gaps and provide coverage, collect any field-level insight
Must-Haves
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- A proven professional record of outcomes in data
- High-level networking/relational strengths with an ability to execute
- Ability to make sound, critical decisions under pressure
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
- Great attention to detail and time-management skills
Nice-To-Haves
- Management experience
- An ability to read and contextualize data and communicate it in a way that moves others to action
- Experience working or high-level volunteering for a church, or non-profit.
Benefits & Compensation
Union Church offers a generous compensation package. The salary for this position is commensurate with experience.
