Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Position: Special Education Teacher
Location: Buffalo Grove, Illinois
Duration: Full-Time, 2025-2026School Year
Start: August 18, 2025
Schedule: 40 hours/week

Overview: We are seeking dedicated and passionate Special Education Teachers to join our team for the upcoming school year. You will collaborate with educators, parents, and specialists to ensure every student receives the personalized attention and resources necessary to thrive academically and socially.

  • Middle School (6th-8th Grade)
  • Therapeutic Day School
  • Working with students that require additional support managing their emotionality in order to access the general education curriculum.
  • Caseload Size: <10 students
  • Teacher has support writing and managing IEPs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the varying learning capabilities of students.

  • Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and technologies to engage students in meaningful learning experiences.

  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and goals.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educators License with an LBS1 Teaching Endorsement

  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and disabilities.

  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with assistive technology and adaptive equipment.

  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques and positive behavior support strategies.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
