Position: Special Education Teacher – Emotional Disability (SPED ED)
Location: South Riding, VA (20152)
Type: Contract | Local or Travel
Duration: 27 Weeks | 40 hrs/week
Schedule: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 2:45 PM
Pay: $40–$45/hr

Overview:

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Special Education Teacher – Emotional Disability (SPED ED) for an exciting job in South Riding, VA.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a self-contained SPED ED classroom

• Deliver individualized instruction aligned with IEPs and academic standards

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and BIPs in compliance with IDEA

• Manage classroom behavior using positive and data-driven strategies

• Track and document academic and behavioral progress

• Collaborate with school staff, behavior specialists, and families

• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Special Education

• Active or eligible VA SPED license with ED or equivalent endorsement

• Experience with emotional/behavioral disabilities and crisis intervention

• Strong classroom management, documentation, and communication skills

Preferred:

• Lead teacher experience in self-contained behavior classrooms

• Experience with FBAs, trauma-informed, restorative, and positive behavior practices
