Job Description
About the Role:
- Lead and support a team of engineers and technicians, providing clear direction, regular feedback, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment aligned with company values.
- Drive performance and development through coaching, regular check-ins, and alignment of team goals with departmental and site objectives.
- Effectively manage change by communicating priorities, encouraging team input, and helping maintain focus on value delivery through simplification and prioritization.
- Oversee day-to-day execution of engineering projects, including process improvements, equipment upgrades, fixture development, and automation initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations to ensure alignment and achievement of production goals.
- Support costs management efforts by tracking project budgets, identifying efficiency opportunities, and contributing to capital investment proposals.
- Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards, supporting root cause analysis, CAPAs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a strong safety culture, participating in audits, implementing corrective actions and support corporate EHS programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with minimum 7 years of manufacturing engineering experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
- 3+ years of people management/supervision on non-exempt and exempt level employees.
- Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies including successful implementation of related initiatives.
- Strong project leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence without authority and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency in engineering tools and systems, including Microsoft Office, CAD software (AutoCAD or SolidWorks), and ERP systems (BMOs, routers, traceability).
- Hands-on knowledge of diverse manufacturing processes, such as machining, joining, finishing, plating, soldering, coating and optics.
- Experience with electrical and pneumatic systems; PCL programming experience is a plus.
- Solid understanding and application of statistical methods for process analysis and improvement.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and support team development.
