Schedule

  • Availability: Monday–Friday
  • Full Day: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Half Day: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM or 11:30 AM – 5:00 PM

A Day in the Life of a Substitute Teacher Dallas, TX & Nearby Cities

  • Implement and follow lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher to ensure a cohesive and consistent learning experience.
  • Manage the classroom effectively to promote engagement, minimize disruptions, and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including hallways, playgrounds, and cafeterias.
  • Provide assignments and maintain student progress according to the lesson plan.
    For long-term assignments, develop lesson plans in coordination with department heads and ensure continuity with the regular teacher’s curriculum.

Compensation-Dallas, TX & Nearby Cities
$90–$120 per day (based on education level and/or valid Texas certification)

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or 60+ college credit hours (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or valid Texas teaching certification (preferred but not required)
  • Experience as a substitute teacher (preferred but not required)
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional, positive attitude
  • Ability to lead, instruct, and engage students of all ages
  • General knowledge across multiple subject areas
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and strong critical-thinking skills
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment
