Schedule
- Availability: Monday–Friday
- Full Day: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Half Day: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM or 11:30 AM – 5:00 PM
A Day in the Life of a Substitute Teacher Dallas, TX & Nearby Cities
- Implement and follow lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher to ensure a cohesive and consistent learning experience.
- Manage the classroom effectively to promote engagement, minimize disruptions, and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students.
- Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including hallways, playgrounds, and cafeterias.
- Provide assignments and maintain student progress according to the lesson plan.
For long-term assignments, develop lesson plans in coordination with department heads and ensure continuity with the regular teacher’s curriculum.
Compensation-Dallas, TX & Nearby Cities
$90–$120 per day (based on education level and/or valid Texas certification)
Qualifications
- Associate degree or 60+ college credit hours (required)
- Bachelor’s degree and/or valid Texas teaching certification (preferred but not required)
- Experience as a substitute teacher (preferred but not required)
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional, positive attitude
- Ability to lead, instruct, and engage students of all ages
- General knowledge across multiple subject areas
- Flexibility, adaptability, and strong critical-thinking skills
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment
