The Quality Inspector III is responsible for checking incoming materials, in‑process parts, and finished goods, including medical products, through visual inspection and basic measuring or test equipment. The role involves recording inspection results, making accept/reject decisions, and maintaining accurate inventory control. Additionally, the inspector manages the final product release by verifying documentation, line clearance, expiration dates, and job completion. The position also includes leading stock checks, inventory audits, and rework efforts while adhering to all established quality procedures and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform and lead incoming, in‑process, and final inspections using visual checks, measurement tools, and standard test equipment.
- Complete all required inspection documentation and identify errors, omissions, defects, and nonconforming material per procedures and AQL standards.
- Communicate inspection findings clearly with QA and production teams.
- Verify line start‑ups, equipment readiness, and perform line‑clearance activities for final product release.
- Review manufacturing and production documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Manage rework areas, held‑stock processes, and maintain daily reports using SAP, Excel, and other systems.
- Support oversight of inspectors performing incoming, in‑process, and final product inspections.
- Assist the QA Supervisor with documentation tasks and resource planning.
- Participate in quality, safety, and problem‑solving meetings and support continuous improvement and customer satisfaction initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, GMP, GDP, and all company quality policies.
- Read and interpret engineering and production documents such as Bills of Material, pick sheets, substitutions, and engineering changes.
- Assist with training, retraining, and skill development of inspectors.
Essential Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2+ years of quality control experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Preferred: 4+ years of quality control experience in medical device and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English clearly.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to identify defects and documentation errors.
- Visual abilities including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, and fraction‑to‑decimal conversions.
- Basic computer proficiency, including generating NCMRs or certificates and using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of quality regulations such as GMP, GDP, ISO standards, or 21 CFR 820/210/211.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and make clear decisions in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to process detailed information and determine importance to draw accurate conclusions.
- Ability to read and interpret production and quality documents.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Capable of working in both hot and cold environments.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods with frequent twisting and bending.
- Ability to work for prolonged periods in PPE or sterile gowns.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment
The position operates on a 2-2-3 working schedule with 12-hour shifts. Be prepared to work in both hot and cold environments and wear personal protective equipment or sterile gowns as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Neptune, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.50 - $35.50/hr.
