At Flip Flops Bar & Grill, the bartender is more than a drink maker—you are the energy behind the bar, the face of the guest experience, and a key contributor to the resort’s atmosphere. This role blends hospitality, efficiency, and personality to create a vibrant, welcoming environment for both resort guests and the public.
You are responsible for delivering exceptional service, crafting quality beverages, and creating memorable moments that keep guests coming back.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience
Provide friendly, attentive, and engaging service to all guests
Create a welcoming and upbeat bar atmosphere aligned with the Olde Florida brand
Anticipate guest needs and personalize service when possible
Maintain professionalism while fostering a fun, social environment
Beverage Preparation
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to standard recipes
Ensure consistency, presentation, and quality in every drink
Recommend drinks, upsell specials, and promote featured menu items
Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ensure responsible service
Bar Operations
Set up and break down bar stations before and after shifts
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area at all times
Manage inventory levels, restock supplies, and notify management of shortages
Accurately process orders through POS system (Toast) and handle payments
Compliance & Safety
Verify guest identification and enforce alcohol service laws
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards
Adhere to company policies and procedures
Team Collaboration
Work closely with kitchen, servers, and management to ensure seamless service
Support events, rallies, and high-volume service periods
Contribute to a positive team culture and assist where needed
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience preferred (hospitality or resort experience a plus)
- Knowledge of standard drink recipes and bar techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
Preferred Skills
- Experience with POS systems (Toast preferred)
- TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong upselling and guest engagement skills
- Event or high-volume bar experience
