Who We Are & What Drives Us

At Family Forum, Inc., we are dedicated to preparing children and their families for success through high-quality programming, family support, and wellness education—all while fostering meaningful relationships. Our core values aren't just words on paper; we live by them every day: Relationships, Empowerment, Trust, and Safety.

If you are passionate about early childhood development and want to empower parents as their child’s first and lifelong educators, we want you on our team!

The Role: Your Opportunity to Shine

As a Home-Based Home Visitor, you will be the ultimate champion for school readiness. You’ll step into the hearts and homes of local families, enhancing the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of infants and toddlers. Through structured weekly visits, fun group socializations, and deep community connections, you will build the foundation for a child's bright future.

What You'll Do

What Your Week Will Look Like:

  • Empower Families: Conduct rewarding weekly 90-minute home visits and build strong, goal-oriented Family Partnership Agreements.
  • Create Community: Plan and facilitate energetic, twice-monthly group socializations for children and families to connect and grow.
  • Coach & Support: Guide parents through research-based milestones, focusing on positive parent-child interactions, health, nutrition, and mental wellness.
  • Bridge the Gap: Help families navigate and access vital community resources and smoothly transition into their next early childhood settings.
  • Collaborate: Partner with our Health Lead and program staff to ensure every child gets their essential medical, dental, and developmental screenings.
  • Stay Organized: Keep accurate, up-to-date documentation in our education database to track the amazing progress your families are making.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Required: A Home Visitor Child Development Associate (CDA) credential OR equivalent coursework in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Preferred: A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least one (1) year of joyful experience working directly with infants, toddlers, and families.

Skills & Certifications:

  • The Essentials: A valid driver's license (weekly community travel is required!) and current Infant/Pediatric CPR certification.
  • The Knowledge: Up-to-date certifications in OSHA, Civil Rights, Mandated Reporter, and Abusive Head Trauma (or willingness to get them, following renewal timelines).
  • Your Strengths: Stellar interpersonal communication, cultural responsiveness, top-notch time management, and comfortable basic computer skills.
  • Growth Mindset: Ready to tackle 25 hours of exciting professional development and continuing education every year.

Work Environment & Physical Fun

This is an active, dynamic role! You’ll get a mix of quiet office spaces, bustling and joyful Head Start centers, and diverse residential home environments. Flexibility is your superpower here!

  • Daily Action: You will frequently (34–66% of the time) be on your feet—walking, standing, bending, and carrying up to 25 lbs. (perfect for picking up toys or resources!).
  • Active Play: You’ll occasionally kneel, squat, or reach above your shoulders to interact with toddlers on their level.
  • Connection is Key: Active communication and speaking are constant (67–100% of the time) as you engage, laugh, and connect with children, parents, and teammates.

🎓 A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, or a related field.
