We're partnering with a manufacturing and distribution company in Richmond to find a Procurement Specialist who knows how to source smart, build vendor relationships, and keep the supply chain humming. This is a fully on-site role for someone who likes being where the action is.
What you'll do:
- Source and purchase materials, supplies, and equipment to keep operations moving
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors (your poker face will come in handy)
- Monitor inventory levels and anticipate purchasing needs before they become emergencies
- Evaluate supplier performance and build relationships that actually last
- Collaborate with production, warehouse, and finance teams to align purchasing with business goals
- Track costs, identify savings opportunities, and make the numbers make sense
What you bring:
- 3+ years of procurement or purchasing experience (manufacturing/distribution environment preferred)
- Strong negotiation skills and a knack for building vendor partnerships
- Detail-oriented with the ability to juggle multiple priorities without breaking a sweat
- Solid communication skills—you'll be working across departments daily
