🚀 Now Hiring: Lead Nuclear Accountability Specialist

COMPA Industries is seeking a Lead Nuclear Accountability Specialist to support Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS). This senior role is focused on hands-on Nuclear Material Control & Accountability (NMC&A) leadership within the DOE/NNSA nuclear complex.

💰 Pay: $65/hr – $70/hr

📍 Location: Remote eligible (with periodic travel to Savannah River Site and other DOE locations)

🕒 Schedule: Full-Time (5/8s, 4/10s, or 9/80s as approved)

🇺🇸 Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required

🔐 Clearance: DOE Q Clearance required (active preferred)

This role requires direct, hands-on experience in the following areas:

  • Nuclear Material Control & Accountability (NMC&A) at a DOE/NNSA site
  • LANMAS (Local Area Nuclear Material Accounting Software) — required
  • Nuclear material accounting & physical inventory reconciliation
  • Development and ownership of NMC&A System Effectiveness Plans
  • Execution and approval of Performance Tests (PTs) and Limited Notice Performance Tests (LNPTs)
  • Self-assessments, enterprise assessments, and corrective action (STAR) programs
  • Strong knowledge of DOE nuclear material accounting systems and reporting requirements
  • Ability to serve as NMC&A Training SME (course development, revision, and instruction)
  • Experience supporting DOE/NNSA audits, classifications, and security risk assessments

🚫 Candidates without DOE-site NMC&A and LANMAS experience will not be considered.

🔧 What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Lead site-wide NMC&A programs and compliance activities
  • Own annual NMC&A reporting and system effectiveness metrics
  • Serve as the primary IAEA interface for nuclear material accountability
  • Oversee LANMAS-based accounting operations and testing
  • Support classification, vulnerability assessments, and new site missions
  • Provide technical leadership, training, and mentoring

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field (accounting preferred)
  • 8+ years NMC&A experience (or 12+ years accounting/nuclear inventory experience)
  • DOE Q Clearance (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills

Preferred: CPA, QMF/SQL training, enterprise nuclear software implementation experience
