Claims Adjuster – Liability – Auto Physical Damage
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Claims Adjuster with a strong background working for an insurance carrier or TPA, specializing in physical damage liability claims. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to manage a diverse claim portfolio efficiently from start to finish.
Responsibilities
Claims Management
- Investigate, evaluate, and resolve third-party physical damage liability claims promptly and accurately.
- Manage coverage analysis, liability determination, damages assessment, and settlement negotiations.
- Oversee repair estimates, total loss evaluations, and salvage opportunities.
- Maintain detailed and compliant claim documentation consistent with carrier standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with defense counsel, vendors, and internal teams to ensure fair and timely claim outcomes.
Effective Communication
- Maintain proactive communication with insureds, claimants, repair facilities, defense firms, and internal claims staff.
- Negotiate settlements effectively while mitigating exposure and supporting company financial objectives.
- Deliver clear, professional written and verbal updates throughout the claim lifecycle.
Client & Team Support
- Provide exceptional support to policyholders throughout the claim process, ensuring transparency and empathy.
- Contribute to a cohesive claims operation by collaborating with peers and leadership on best practices.
- Represent the company's professionalism and service commitment in all interactions.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience handling physical damage claims for an insurance carrier or TPA.
- Proven ability to manage both liability physical damage exposure, including total losses and repairs.
- Strong technical knowledge of policy interpretation, coverage application, and trucking industry standards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining accountability and productivity.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for training, meetings.
