We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Nurse to coordinate and oversee clinical operations of clinical trials. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in clinical research studies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the principal investigator in preparing proposed clinical trials, reviewing trial protocols, and ensuring appropriate departments are notified and equipped.
  • Submit protocol revisions, informed consents, continuing reviews, and serious adverse events to the relevant IRB in a timely manner.
  • Act as a liaison between principal investigators and sub-investigators on regulatory issues and protocol changes.
  • Collaborate with the principal investigator to review studies for feasibility and evaluate potential competition with other protocols.
  • Recruit and evaluate study patients, schedule appointments, and conduct interviews.
  • Identify the needs of the patient population served, modifying care to meet specific needs.
  • Review medical records for potential study patients, ensuring documentation follows protocol guidelines.
  • Educate study patients on informed consent procedures, HIPAA authorization, and provide necessary instructions.
  • Perform nursing assessments and monitor study patient progress during clinical trials.
  • Notify principal investigator of adverse events, including drug toxicity or unexpected side effects, and report serious adverse events to the sponsor and IRB.
  • Coordinate research activities, including scheduling laboratory tests and other medical exams.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for each patient participating in clinical trial protocols.
  • Prepare for sponsor monitor site visits and ensure all supporting documentation is available.

Essential Skills

  • Graduate of a NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing.
  • 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, with consideration for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Adherence to American Nurses Association standards.
  • Mandatory education on human subjects research.
  • Clinical Research Experience or Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • BSN preferred.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulatory, IND reporting, and proficiency in Microsoft or similar Office Suite.
  • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $139000.00 - $139000.00/yr.
