Job DescriptionJob Title: Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) – Day ShiftLocation: Humble, TXEmployment Type: Contract / 13 WeeksShift: Day ShiftPosition Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) to perform and score sleep studies in accordance with established clinical standards. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in sleep study analysis, patient care, and quality assurance, with the ability to work across diverse patient populations including pediatric and adult patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and score sleep studies in accordance with AASM standards
  • Identify and score clinical events such as respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, and arousals
  • Generate accurate reports and communicate findings with physicians
  • Monitor polysomnograms during patient testing and prepare detailed clinical summaries
  • Provide quality assurance feedback and support staff education initiatives
  • Successfully complete monthly inter-scorer reliability exams
  • Deliver patient care appropriate to age and condition, including pediatric and special-needs patients
  • Assist with patient care coordination, satisfaction, and service recovery
  • Conduct patient interviews to assess medications, sleep patterns, and lifestyle factors
  • Prepare for and perform sleep studies, including reviewing patient records and physician orders
  • Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient status and unclear orders
  • Ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and organizational policies
  • Support departmental training, orientation, and mentoring of junior staff
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education

Required Qualifications:

Certifications:

  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience performing and scoring sleep studies as an RPSGT
  • Proficiency in scoring both adult and pediatric sleep studies

Required Skills:

  • Experience with Epic EMR
  • Hands-on experience with Home Sleep Test setup and scoring
  • Proficiency with Natus SleepWorks
  • Strong analytical and clinical interpretation skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 75–100 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to carry up to 30 lbs
