Position Summary:
The Finance Clerk provides essential support to the Accounting Department with a primary focus on document handling, scanning, and digital file management. This entry-level role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who is organized and eager to gain experience in finance and accounting operations within a healthcare environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Scan and digitize financial and accounting documents accurately and efficiently.
- Index and file scanned documents into the appropriate electronic systems.
- Perform regular audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of scanned files.
- Organize and maintain paper records for storage and retrieval as needed.
- Assist accounting staff with data entry and basic clerical tasks.
- Support invoice processing and document verification.
- Respond to internal requests for documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial records and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Coursework or experience in accounting or finance preferred.
- Previous clerical or office experience is a plus but not required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Basic understanding of accounting principles is helpful.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks with a high level of focus.
- Comfortable working with scanners, copiers, and office equipment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
