Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented On-Call Floor Care Technician to support the cleanliness and upkeep of our facility in Washington, DC. This role focuses on maintaining the condition and appearance of all floor surfaces, contributing to a clean and safe environment for staff and guests. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, technical knowledge of floor care equipment, and a strong sense of responsibility. This is an on-call position, with shifts scheduled based on operational needs.

Responsibilities:

Perform floor care services including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning as required.
Operate and maintain floor care equipment such as buffers, auto scrubbers, carpet extractors, and burnishers.
Inspect floors regularly to determine maintenance needs and report any damage or safety hazards.
Follow proper safety procedures, especially when using cleaning agents and equipment.
Maintain cleanliness in designated areas such as hallways, lobbies, offices, and common spaces.
Assist with emergency clean-ups as needed.
Maintain accurate records of tasks completed during each shift.
Work collaboratively with the janitorial and maintenance teams to ensure consistent cleanliness standards.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in floor care, janitorial, or custodial work is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with floor care techniques and equipment.
Ability to work independently and respond to on-call requests with short notice.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality service.
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Must be able to lift and move equipment and supplies as needed.
Must pass a background check and comply with all safety and operational procedures.
