This opportunity places you in a state-of-the-art teaching hospital with a Level 1 Trauma designation, known for fostering continuous learning and career development. You’ll gain invaluable experience managing complex cases in both pediatric hematology/oncology and acute care units, with strong departmental support and resources to ensure patient safety and outstanding care.

Scheduling/Hours:

  • Shift: 7p–7a
  • Every other weekend rotation
  • 75% of holidays required
  • No on-call duties
  • 6-week schedule cycles

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active RN license with at least 1 year in pediatric acute care; 1 year in pediatric hem/oncology preferred
  • BLS required; PALS preferred
  • Strong pediatric assessment, critical thinking, central line management, and chemo administration skills
  • EMR proficiency (Epic)
  • Open to first-time travelers with solid pediatric backgrounds

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive pediatric care for diverse diagnoses, including leukemia, sickle cell crises, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, behavioral health overlays, and more
  • Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5
  • Collaborate with skilled CNAs, hospitalists, intensivists, and an array of support staff
  • Utilize advanced technology such as Epic, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
  • Float between pediatric units as required, excluding the Pediatric ED
  • Participate in unit orientation and 2-day departmental training
