About Us
Crown Hardware is a Milwaukee-area hardware and supply company expanding into residential and light commercial plumbing services. We are hiring our first full-time Licensed Master Plumber to build and lead our new service division.
This is a ground-floor opportunity. You will be the face of our plumbing operation — running service calls, building customer relationships, and helping us grow a division from day one. We are a locally owned business with deep roots in the Milwaukee market, an existing customer base, and full back-office support. You focus on the work; we handle the scheduling, invoicing, and admin through our field service software.
This role also offers a unique dual-function element: during known high-traffic periods at our store (such as Friday afternoons), you may assist on the sales floor — helping customers with plumbing product questions, fixture selection, and parts identification. A licensed plumber on the floor is a credibility asset our customers love.

What You’ll Do
- Respond to and complete residential and light commercial plumbing service calls in the Milwaukee metro area
- Diagnose plumbing issues and present clear, honest quotes to customers on-site before work begins
- Perform drain cleaning, leak repair, fixture installation, water heater service and replacement, pipe repair, and general plumbing maintenance
- Pull job permits as required by the City of Milwaukee and ensure all work meets Wisconsin plumbing code
- Complete job documentation and customer invoicing through the Jobber mobile app at each job close
- Collect payment on-site via card reader or text-to-pay
- Represent the company professionally — you are often the only company representative a customer meets in person
- Assist on the retail sales floor during designated high-traffic store periods, helping customers with plumbing products, fixture selection, and parts identification
- Communicate job status, parts needs, and any issues to back office dispatch throughout the day
Requirements
- Active Wisconsin Master Plumber License required; license will be verified via the Wisconsin DSPS portal before an offer is extended
- Minimum 3 years of residential and/or light commercial plumbing service experience (not new construction)
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with a clean or near-clean MVR — you will be driving a company vehicle
- Comfortable presenting quotes and explaining work to homeowners in plain language
- Ability to pass a standard background check
- Smartphone proficiency — you will use the Jobber app daily for scheduling, job notes, and invoicing
- Physical ability to perform plumbing work including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience with residential water heater installation and replacement
- Familiarity with drain camera/inspection equipment
- Experience with Jobber
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) — helpful given our service area customer mix
Schedule & Work Environment
This is a day-shift, Monday through Friday position with some on call hours on the weekends (OT). Standard dispatch hours are 8AM to 5PM, with dispatch windows adjusted around store staffing needs. Some flexibility in scheduling is built into the role.
Pay: $95,000.00 per year
