Summary:
Our client in the oil and gas industry is seeking a GIS Analyst to support a DOT compliance class location study by executing phase 1 of the project. The scope of phase 1 includes analyzing GIS ESRI pipeline maps, NPMS mapping, aerial imagery, and county property tax records to pinpoint structures located within 660 feet of our gas pipelines and to classify these structures to determine which ones are likely designed for human occupancy.
Duties:
- Retrieving various GIS data sources related to gas lines and their proximity to public structures.
- Evaluating GIS data and confirming the types of nearby structures.
- Recognizing and verifying the ownership and operational types of adjacent pipelines. Documenting GIS coordinates and the structure type for each segment of the pipeline.
- Performing DOT compliance class location study through analysis of the GIS ESRI pipeline maps, NPMS mapping, aerial imagery, and county property tax databases to pinpoint structures within 660 feet of gas pipelines and classify them based on potential human occupancy.
Requirements:
- Advance proficiency with ArcGIS, TranMap, NPMS, Cadastral Maps
- Comprehensive understanding of DOT Compliance
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access)
- 10% Travel
