Nursing professionals with strong Med/Surg expertise are needed for a 13-week contract opportunity in a dynamic hospital setting in Chandler, IN. This position focuses on medical-surgical patients with diverse needs, including trauma level II care, within a supportive team environment led by new leadership. The role offers a chance to work day shifts while developing assessment and clinical skills in a teaching hospital atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care on a 32-bed medical-surgical unit, expanding to 37 beds.
- Manage patient assessments for conditions including CHF, COPD, sepsis, amputations, wounds, and general surgeries.
- Administer IV fluids, antibiotic therapies, heparin drips, and wound care including wound vac management.
- Utilize recent EPIC charting experience to accurately document patient care.
- Float within skill set across two nearby campuses, with advance notice for cross-campus assignments.
- Support precepting of students and new hires in a teaching hospital environment.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies including scrub color standards and compact nursing licensure requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current active compact RN license.
- Minimum of 2 years strong Med/Surg experience with at least one travel assignment.
- Trauma level II experience preferred.
- Current American Heart Association BLS and NIHSS certifications.
- Recent experience with EPIC charting systems.
- Ability to manage change effectively and demonstrate resilience in a fast-paced setting.
Schedule and Contract Details:
- 12-hour day shifts, typically 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Minimum guaranteed 36 hours per week; 48 hours available upon request.
- Weekend work required three out of every six weeks.
- Contract approximately 13 weeks in length with bi-weekly orientation.
- No local candidates within a 40-mile radius considered.
