Location: Residential Treatment Center
Schedule: Full-Time | 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Compensation: $65,000 – $75,000 annually (based on experience)

Position Overview

The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations at a 30-bed residential treatment center. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong culinary, organizational, and administrative skills who can deliver nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. The Head Chef ensures a positive dining experience for residents and staff by managing menus, budgets, inventory, and kitchen personnel.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner for approximately 30 residents daily.
  • Create balanced and appealing menus that accommodate dietary restrictions and promote wellness.
  • Oversee food purchasing, inventory control, and budgeting to ensure cost-effective meal production.
  • Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards in accordance with local and state regulations.
  • Manage and train kitchen support staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Monitor portion control, waste reduction, and overall food quality.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure meals align with resident care needs.
  • Maintain all kitchen documentation, including temperature logs, vendor records, and inventory reports.
  • Ensure timely meal service that supports the facility’s therapeutic schedule.
  • Participate in administrative meetings and contribute to facility operations planning as needed.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of culinary experience, preferably in healthcare, residential, or institutional settings.
  • ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, inventory, and staff scheduling.
  • Commitment to providing nutritious and high-quality meals in a therapeutic environment.
