Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide specialized educational support as a Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students in a full-time, contract role within a K-12 school setting. This position serves students in the Chattanooga area, specifically in Soddy Daisy, TN, supporting their unique learning needs throughout the school year contract period from January 5 to May 21, 2026. The role requires on-site presence with no remote or hybrid options.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support for K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in accordance with their individual schedules and educational plans.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to facilitate effective communication and learning environments.
- Monitor and track student progress and adjust instructional strategies to optimize learning outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and policies, including active Tennessee Department of Education certification requirements.
- Manage caseload effectively, adapting to varied school assignments as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Tennessee Department of Education certification in Teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
- Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students is preferred, with opportunities available for candidates across all experience levels.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with students, families, and school teams.
- Ability to work full-time on-site during school hours (37.5 hours per week).
