Job DescriptionMechanical Estimator
A well-established mechanical contracting firm is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to support commercial and industrial HVAC and mechanical project teams. This role is responsible for preparing accurate estimates for new construction, retrofits, and design-build opportunities while partnering closely with engineering, operations, and sales groups.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate mechanical and HVAC estimates.
- Perform material takeoffs, labor estimates, and cost analyses for piping, equipment, and sheet metal systems.
- Request pricing from suppliers and subcontractors and evaluate received proposals for accuracy and scope alignment.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals, cost breakdowns, alternates, and value engineering options.
- Conduct site visits, walkthroughs, and field assessments as needed.
- Develop subcontractor scopes of work and assist in clarifying bid requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and sales teams to ensure estimates align with project goals.
- Maintain estimating templates, cost databases, and historical pricing information.
- Support awarded projects by assisting with early buyout planning and cost review meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical, HVAC, or construction estimating.
- Strong understanding of HVAC and MEP system components, including sheet metal and piping.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
- Experience with basic duct sizing or mechanical design work; AutoCAD exposure is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and estimating or takeoff software.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Willingness to travel throughout the region as required.
