Steel Forge Quality Inspector

We are currently recruiting for a Hot Inspector. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, preferably in steel, forging or machining. Applicants must be organized, self-motivated and able to complete tasks unsupervised.
Essential Functions:
· Take hourly samples directly from the hammer/press in an efficient and safe manner.
· Thorough visual inspections of the part for imperfections.
· Dimensional inspection of parts using a caliper, micrometer, height gage, etc.
· Hourly non-destructive Magnaflux testing.
· Promptly inform supervisors of non-conformances during production.
· Perform dimensional studies, layouts, and capability studies.
· Accurate entry of tracking information and inspection data into Excel.
· Assist with corrective action investigations.
· Using forklift to transport material as needed
· Practice safe work habits and follow safety rules.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Knowledge and Experience using inspection equipment (calipers, height gages, etc.)
· Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a safe manner around hazardous equipment.
· Strong blueprint reading and comprehension.
· Have a continual improvement mindset.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks.
