We are looking for a dedicated Dispatcher to join our team in Lansing, Michigan. This position is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a passion for providing excellent customer service in the transport industry. The role requires effective communication and multitasking abilities to ensure smooth operations. This role is Monday-Friday, SPLIT shift of 6am-10am and 2pm-6pm. This role is 100% onsite.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and manage transportation schedules to ensure timely service.
• Communicate effectively with drivers and staff using a two-way radio system.
• Respond promptly to incoming calls on a multi-line phone system, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities and transportation logs.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients, including public schools, ensuring their needs are met.
• Monitor and address any operational challenges to ensure seamless daily operations.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize routes and improve efficiency.
• Handle emergency situations by deploying appropriate resources and solutions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures during all dispatch activities.
• Support the team with administrative tasks related to transportation operations.
• Proven experience in dispatching within the transport industry.
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on effective communication.
• Familiarity with managing communications in public school environments.
• Proficiency in operating multi-line phone systems and two-way radios.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Solid organizational skills with attention to detail.
