Job SummaryThe Logistics Coordinator plays a vital role in the execution and management of all domestic logistics activities across multiple DFS North America production sites, toller facilities, and 3rd party warehouses. This position ensures timely and accurate delivery of finished goods to customers by coordinating transportation, managing documentation, and maintaining communication across departments and external partners. Operating within a high-performing supply chain team, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for process efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement in alignment with corporate strategies and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- General Logistics Operations
- Coordinate daily logistics activities including:
- Delivery creation and shipment processing in SAP
- Order fulfillment coordination with warehouses
- Carrier scheduling and communication
- Shipping and customer documentation preparation
- Shipment tracking and issue escalation
- Manage exceptions and resolve issues with carriers, internal departments, and 3rd party warehouses.
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and implement improvements where needed.
- Monitor adherence to legal and functional requirements.
- Warehouse & Distribution Management
- Manage the transportation and documentation of stock movements within the DFS distribution network.
- Oversee cycle count processes for external warehouses and escalate unresolved issues.
- Align 3rd party warehouse systems with SAP for inventory accuracy.
- Complaint & Claims Handling
- Lead or assist in the investigation and resolution of shipment-related complaints and claims.
- Customer Concentricity
- Proactively communicate delays and issues to Customer Service, Planning, and Logistics teams.
- Review customer requests for use of 3PL/4PL services and report feasibility findings.
- Performance & Cost Management
- Provide coding and analysis for Transport Reliability (TR) and other KPIs.
- Manage shipment costing and invoice discrepancies via a 3rd party audit/payor system.
- Support the definition and implementation of logistics strategies to improve supply chain delivery reliability.
- Compliance & Safety
- Promote a safe working environment by adhering to Life Saving Rules (LSR) and fulfilling Transport Safety Coordinator duties (on a rotating basis).
- Ensure SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) compliance throughout all logistics processes.
- Continuous Improvement & Projects
- Participate in logistics process improvements and implementation of service provider changes.
- Drive sustainability initiatives and contribute to regional and global supply chain strategies.
- Support operational excellence projects across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Logistics Operations or Supply Chain Management.
- 3–5 years of experience in domestic logistics coordination or a related supply chain function.
- Hands-on experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of warehousing and distribution practices, including domestic shipping requirements.
- Familiarity with order-to-cash (OTC), manufacturing, customs, and warehouse management systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a multi-site logistics environment (internal and external warehouses).
- Exposure to logistics sustainability initiatives or projects.
- Functional expertise in incoterms, export documentation, and transportation claims management.
Certifications
- No specific certifications required; training will be provided where needed.
