Job DescriptionJob Summary/Company:
Sparks Group is partnering with a highly respected Washington, DC credit union to hire a Bilingual (Spanish/English) Compliance Specialist. The Compliance Specialist assists with the implementation and administration of all aspects of the Credit Union’s Compliance Programs. This role helps ensure organizational compliance with NCUA rules, regulations, and applicable statutory requirements while supporting ongoing monitoring, reporting, and remediation efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Verify and approve escalated or potential matches identified through OFAC verification, ensuring appropriate due diligence is documented.
- Perform bi-weekly FinCEN 314(a) reviews.
- Analyze 314(a) and other watchlist alerts, exercising sound discretion and judgment.
- Conduct research and document due diligence related to acknowledged alerts.
- Perform and document periodic Compliance Reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal compliance requirements.
- Assist in communicating Compliance Review results and collaborate with appropriate teams to track and document remediation efforts.
- Perform weekly CTR, SAR, and SAR Amount reconciliations.
- Report reconciliation results to supervisor and track follow-up remediation activities.
- Serve as backup and support for shared compliance responsibilities within the team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Background Profile:
- High school diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; some college coursework required, or equivalent experience in a compliance-related role.
- Compliance certification preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a financial institution, preferably within a credit union environment.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound discretion and judgment.
- Strong decision-making, analytical, and investigative skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and credit union core systems.
- Strong work ethic, including willingness to work extended hours as needed to meet business demands.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with effective time management discipline.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines while functioning effectively in a team environment.
- Strong numerical and financial data analysis skills are a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish verbal and written communication skillss.

This job is Hybrid Remote.
Pay Range: Hourly $27.00 to $31.00
