Job Description
JOB SUMMARYThe Winder Operator is a member of a crew that operates two production lines. Working with your shift team, you will safely produce high-quality products in a fast-paced, continuous operation environment. The expectation for this role is to deliver quality packaging and products for customers while adhering to Client's “Safer Together” safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Client's Safety Standard “Safer Together” and all plant safety requirements
  • Take personal ownership of safety and hold team members accountable to the same standards
  • Notify supervisor immediately of any accidents, near misses, or injuries
  • Participate in safety, quality, autonomous maintenance (AM), TPM, and housekeeping programs
  • Perform tasks to reduce environmental impact and comply with recycling and waste disposal procedures
  • Comply with all plant rules and regulations
  • Perform cleanup duties at workstations and equipment/machinery
  • Communicate safety concerns and equipment issues to appropriate personnel
  • Inspect vehicles and PIV equipment before and during use; maintain cleanliness and operability
  • Participate in TPM initiatives, including CILT standards and 5S
  • Actively engage in AM or Pillar teams and Focus Improvement (FI) problem-solving
  • Perform winder, EDL, and conveyor quality checks and documentation
  • Maintain and adjust control panel settings (speed, delays, timers)
  • Provide quality control information to plant employees
  • Monitor and report unusual or suspect material issues
  • Communicate with coater end operators and back-end operators regarding production and quality
  • Evaluate finished products for proper weight and thickness
  • Operate winders and packaging machines on both production lines
  • Operate banding equipment efficiently
  • Print and apply pallet labels accurately
  • Load and stack reworked material safely
  • Track, manage, and report scrap and seconds accurately
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Monitor alarms and respond appropriately
  • Assist with web break repairs and product changeover procedures
  • Support training and development of team members
  • Follow all standard operating procedures and processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work safely and comply with all plant safety standards
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, stacking, and operating machinery
  • Basic understanding of product processes and equipment operation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, continuous production environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating winders, packaging machines, or similar production equipment
  • Familiarity with TPM methodology, AM teams, and Focus Improvement tools
  • Prior manufacturing or production line experience
  • Knowledge of quality control processes and documentation
